Guardian Team

Dr Sharannya

Dr Sharannya

CEO, President

MBBS Batch 2014, SETH GSMC and KEMH, Guardian Team Member since 2018

Sharannya has been one of the most hardworking, diligent, loving, caring and punctual volunteer at Salvation Army Centre in Sion. This she did in the most difficult year of her medical school life. And truth be told she did justice to both her MBBS life and her work at VECTOR.

And that’s not just it, as a member of the Guardian Team at VECTOR she was even more involved in the workings of VECTOR. Her dedication is really something to live up to.Her leadership and management skills shined as she managed her internship and led us as president in 2019.
She has always been integral in recruitment programmes both as a go-to speaker and an interviewer.

Sharannya wasn’t just any president or a team member or a simple volunteer, she was the most amazing President, the most caring and wholesome team member and the most dedicated volunteer at VECTOR.

Tejusv Goel

HRs Beyond Limit, MBBS, KEM

Tejusv urf “sar me dard” urf “dard me hamdard”A Person with very beautiful smile. He is a rare combination of devilish mind and kind heart. Running, gaming, irritating people, philosophical discussion are his FEW qualities which he uses to make his and his friend’s life wonderful. Tejasv started his journey with vector 3 years back. On initial days, He used to teach children with great passion and creativity. He used to visit centers even if his class wasn’t scheduled. He was always ready to exchange or substitute class for any volunteer. This efforts and interest of him connected him with each and every student of the center. He was the most dedicated volunteer at Vector.

The ability to make emotional and personal bond with the whole vector family forced him to join Guardian Team of Vector. Now he is HR and despite of so much work for this position he still loves to teach kids and for that he visits center very often. He is very punctual, disciplined and kind. this makes him an amazing leader, a very good friend and a beautiful person. the best quality of him is standing for his opinion but he always supports team’s final decision.I can’t conclude him with any big word or a deep quote but for me he is just ?

Ayushi Dubey

The most experienced and among the first members of Vector is our beloved Ayushi. She has seen Vector grow from a 4 volunteer teaching programme to a now 200+ Volunteers full fledged NGO.
Ayushi’s contribution has been among the significant factors that has led to the constant growth of Vector. Her motivation, dedication and passion is apparent at every team meeting and every class that she takes.
She is someone who feels very strongly regarding the social challenges, especially that of education to underprivileged kids and mental health
She is also the best guide to have around you! having dealt with the most notoriously mischievous kids with remarkable success, she sets a great example of empathy, patience and creative teaching for all the volunteers to follow suit
To summarize how much Ayushi means to us I would like to use this quote- ‘One dedicated person with worth a hundred who are only interested’

Nikita Chandak

Content Developer

The best way to describe Nikita would be as “a selfless artist”.
Nikita is a hard-working, intelligent girl who believes strongly in creating an impact on the society. She has a beautiful quality of expressing herself through the artwork, which she loves. She is fittingly the head of content development team of VECTOR she aims to help students and volunteers of VECTOR. Her constant hard work and her creativity is an inspiration to everyone around her. She was a mentor and teacher for students in VECTOR when she started.

She has designed a pamphlet for creating awareness about breast reconstruction, for our college symposium team which has helped many breast cancer patients. This truly shows her values.
She is also a great empathetic medical student and a very good speaker, who was also the head of Humanities and strongly believes in that concept.

Nikita is a budding social change maker which is reflected by her involvement in many projects including a de-addiction initiative MUKTI. She is a source of constant inspiration and a pillar of our team

Akshaya Alapure

Teaching Head

A highly reliable, trustworthy and accountable person who has been a part of this organisation since 2019, and thus in no time she proved her worthiness in the executive team demonstrating her leadership qualities.
She is calm & composed while brainstorming ideas with such a creativity that puts one in awe. Her journey throughout had made her empathetic and would never let down a stranger nor anyone close if she could do anything within her limits. It is not surprising that her ingenuity could be linked to her penchant for digital paintings and photography skills. One of her friends describes her artwork as a visual therapy in times of distress.

Long story short “She has set a standard for every girl in this society to be independent, strong, confident and to keep working until theast breath to succeed” as rightly summarized by her colleagues

Divya Tamkhane

“One woman army of vector”. There was a long time at VECTOR that salvation and Divya were almost synonymous. While 90% of the guardian team were trying to handle parel centre, she handled the salvation centre on her without even uttering a complaint. She has literally saved the Salvation army for us.

From managing the centre to reporting attendance and lesson plans, she did it all alone. Teachers at salvation used to know  only Divya from the guardian team. What makes her “Divya” or unique is that she speaks through her work. Her passion for working for kids and her team without any expectations makes her stand out from the rest of us. Whenever the team has found itself in crisis, Divya has stepped in, without letting anyone notice her huge contributions.

You call Divya anytime and ask for help, I guarantee she will never disappoint you.  That’s how Divya also took up the versatile responsibilities  from managing bank accounts to leading our PR team. She is an amazing leader too. She allows others in her team to work with complete freedom and listens to them.

She is amazing at keeping things organised. She started almost 2 years back as a teacher to 10ths standard to day volunteer to the head of the salvation army and a guardian team member today. From organizing celebration events  to attending all the  meetings with us, Divya has been our constant.

This silent jewel of our team is also a dance enthusiast. She has even headed one of the college event’s dance teams . She also takes interest in nature trails and photography. You will often find her to be appreciating little things which helps her spread positive vibes to the people surrounding her.

Divya adds a rare element to our team. The element of altruism. She has always kept VECTOR before herself in every aspect. Every successful organization needs people like her.

Madhu Choudhary

President

Madhu’s journey with VECTOR began nearly 2 years ago as a fresh-faced volunteer , then as a member of the GT, and now she’ll be serving the role of the President.During her time as a teaching volunteer, Madhu was able to experience directly our vision of empowerment through education. With time, as her role was expanded to being a member of the GT, she developed remarkable skills in classroom management and administration, team and volunteer management, leadership, volunteer selection, and working to reach targets and execute projects within a team. And with this vast experience she has with being a volunteer, and being an active member of the GT, Madhu became an expert in coming up with interesting and innovative solutions to problems concerning the volunteers at the grass-root levels and the management of the organisation as a whole.

She learnt how to tackle the problems faced by the team and the organisation from the volunteer point of view as opposed to the management’s. Currently in the final lap of achieving her MBBS,she is always eager to learn more about increasing her impact on the society through her work. And is currently also working on tackling and finding a solution to mental health issues faced by covid patients.
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, but this isn’t something that worries Madhu. Because she already accounts experience a writer. Her fervid thoughts adorned with the words from the hindi shabdakosh are a delight.  She has worn many hats, from medical student and volunteer, to team leader, and avid writer. She clearly enjoys innovation and inspiration and these are her driving forces as well.

Jerremiah Nunes

Jerremiah Nunes

Centre Head – Parel

Funny, witty, intelligent but at the same time motivating, inspiring and encouraging is how I would describe Jeremiah (or Jerry as we all like to call him).  He has this cheerful personality that can make people around him happy and a vibe that can resonate with even the most introvert person in a room.

An extremely talented, creative and hardworking person who has contributed to Vector in million big ways and trillion small ways. In his journey of 2 years in Vector, Vector has grown in a lot of ways and he has been an active member of the organization in handling the various on- ground issues, giving his inputs in the content development team and putting his rational opinions forward.

This Guardian team member apart from his work in Vector, has been sensitive about various other issues. He raised his voice against the usage of ‘sir’ & ‘mam’ as a part of ragging. He is an efficient organizer who has the experience of organizing medical conferences and events for the college. Currently also working for the Department of Medical Humanities of KEM as a senior secretary, he is definitely making the world more humanitarian.

It is a pleasure for all of us to know him and to be able to work with him. The vector team is fortunate to have him:)

Saumya Bhatnagar

Saumya Bhatnagar

Centre Head – Salvation

When I first met Saumya I was very surprised & happy too because she was the only volunteer from Sion at the camping  with all the strangers. It takes courage to take such step & I was so overwhelmed that she took that step & after that she was there for every celebration. She is a dedicated volunteer at Salvation army since 2018. She is very enthusiastic & so committed to her work that she soon traversed her path from becoming day in charge to now centre head in one year.

She is hard working & proves that “Actions speak louder than words”.She’s one of the most soft spoken members of the team with a load of patience. But, if you get to know her a bit more, you’ll find that she has a pinch of humour in her, along with some sarcasmIt also should be noted that although she’s the Centre head of Salvation, she’s always ready to contribute whenever something is being done for the Parel centre, from planning to executing, she’s at the forefront of all the activities. She is a very good listener and listens to every little detail of the problems that her volunteers face and has creative ideas for solutions. She is also the most trust worthy member of the team, we need not worry whether a task given to her will be completed or not as she is always ready with results well before the due date.

Saumya’s sweet nature makes her approachable and easy to talk to and has an amazing rapport with our volunteers at Salvation Army. She is always at the forefront of managing all activities and classes held at the centre. Saumya bridges the communication between the centre authorities and the volunteers with commendable efficiency.

She’s a core member of the Teaching Team and is always proactive in major discussions.Always ready to help, she’s great at problem solving and coming up with alternate solutions.

Ruturaj R. Rane

Head of The Permanent Crayons

_A leader isn’t someone who says : Follow me. A leader is someone who says : I’ll go first._ This the perfect quote to describe Ruturaj. In his journey of two years in VECTOR, he has proven himself worthy of this position because of kind-hearted, honest, sharp-witted nature. He is always ready to take up  every work in the team. He never says ‘no’ to any work. The cherry on the cake is, he never takes the credit for the work he does. Stuck with any problem? Go to Ruturaj. He will feel your problem as his own, and be with you till the very end. His love for VECTOR is so immense that it inspires others to do so. He is an all-rounder – studious, great sportsman, artist, humorous, always ready to take up challenges, etc.Seems, VECTOR will receive much more from his vast personality in the upcoming years.

Ojas Krishnani

Ever had this conversation with a person after which you felt that, yes, I am capable of doing something good, that there’s a better, more rational way of looking at things, that the answers of small question like ‘Why’ can make all the difference in your thinking?
This is what happens with you when you have a meaningful conversation with Ojas Krishnani. Our Guardian Team member who has been with us since the beginning, and has helped to shape the structure of this organization. If you ask him how to study, his answer starts with – why to study, and that is his approach to every problem he tackles.
He has undertaken multiple projects up till now – Vector, MUKTI, a de-addiction program to provide counselling and helping people get rid of alcoholism, a project to enhance the mental health of med students by forming support groups, symposiums and many more. Yet, according to him, his biggest achievement till date is teaching an underprivileged kid to solve algebraic expressions.

Awais Shaikh

Tech Team Head

One of the most sincere and resourceful member of the team, Awais Shaikh has been a part of Vector since the last 2 years. In no time after starting this journey, he took up the responsibility as a Day In-charge followed by joining the Guardian Team in a span of just 2-3 months. Since then he has been an indispensable part of the organisation.
He is always diligent, punctual and reliable with work and actively takes up challenges- be it creating a promotional poster, brochure or video; managing social media handles or engaging volunteers in fun activities. Awais has been capably leading both, the Tech and PR teams at Vector and it was under his guidance that the spectacular website for Vector was created from scratch.
Other than Vector, he has worked with several other organisations like Sevankur, Paani Foundation, Robbin Hood Army, MSAI &  Switch India; which clearly shows his strong will and passion to work for the well being of the masses. Medical innovation is what excites him and he aspires to work as a social entrepreneur in the future.
Always optimistic and organised, one will never find him in stress as his most winsome quality is his easy-going nature; and this is probably the reason why he has been very efficiently juggling between the various projects and organisations that he is a part of.
He is an unassuming and ever light-hearted person and be it keeping nicknames or entertaining everyone at meetings, you will surely find him at the forefront! We are lucky to have a person like him in the team whose sincerity inspires all of us.
